Hello, my name is Colin Finnegan, and I am a first-year law student at the University of Kansas. I was born and raised in Morris, Illinois, and attended Northern Illinois University. After graduating early, I worked in Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner’s legislative affairs department for six months prior to coming to KU.

I, like many prospective students, applied to schools all over the country. My visit to Green Hall was the first time I had been to Lawrence or even the state of Kansas. I immediately felt like I fit in. I felt welcomed by the students and faculty. After talking with career services and the admissions office, I knew that KU was the school for me.

Attending KU Law was one of the best decisions I have made in my life. My classmates are kind and helpful. My professors, despite being brilliant legal minds, are happy to answer questions inside and outside of the classroom. I have learned that KU Law has a nationwide alumni network and a club or organization for any interest. At KU, you get a sense that the entire faculty and administration is working for you and genuinely wants you to succeed.

I hope you will join us at KU Law!  Feel free to contact me, or any of the ambassadors, with any questions. Rock Chalk!
