Hi! My name is Emily Leiker, and I am a first-year law student from Hays, Kansas. I graduated from Fort Hays State University with a bachelor’s degree in tourism and hospitality management.

I did not always plan on going to law school. During my undergraduate years, I changed my career goals multiple times. However, I eventually took a few introductory law classes at FHSU and was hooked. I decided I needed to find a law school that would help me build a successful future. Luckily, I decided on KU Law.

Being a 1L, I very recently went through the process of choosing a law school, and I remember how stressful it can be. KU faculty and students are friendly and willing to help you every step of the way. Please feel free to contact me or another Student Ambassador to learn more about attending KU Law!
