Hi! Welcome to KU Law. My name is Terra Brockman. I am a 1L from Overland Park, Kansas. I graduated from the University of Kansas with bachelor’s degrees in philosophy and psychology.

My interest in law began when I was exploring majors during my undergraduate career. I have always wanted to pursue a career that would allow me to help others and make a difference, but I was not sure the best way to achieve this. After interning with attorneys in the community, I became fascinated with law and how it impacts others. I knew then that I wanted to pursue a career in law.

When deciding which law school to attend, I initially thought that I wanted to begin my legal journey on a new campus. This was until I came on my first official visit to KU Law. Between the welcoming and friendly environment created by the faculty, staff and students and with the school’s academic reputation, I knew this was the perfect fit for me. I had previous experience with being a leader on campus, and I was impressed to find that there are many leadership opportunities available at KU Law. Although I have only been here a short time, I was excited to get involved with the Student Bar Association and was even elected vice-president of the 1L class!

Deciding on a law school can be a difficult decision. I recommend that you visit and see all the things KU Law has to offer. Getting to know faculty and students is an invaluable experience. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions you might have. Rock Chalk!
