Developed in partnership with the Polsinelli law firm, the Center serves as the umbrella for transactional law courses, symposia and programming related to mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, financing, real estate and other business transactions — arming students with the practical skills necessary for successful careers.

Shook, Hardy & Bacon Center for Excellence in Advocacy

Developed in partnership with the law firm of Shook, Hardy & Bacon, the Center's core mission is to enhance the learning experience of students who aspire to be trial lawyers. The Center will create opportunities for mentorship between experienced litigators and law students and provide a forum for practicing trial lawyers to share information with one another.

Tribal Law & Government Center

The Tribal Law & Government Center was founded at KU to prepare a new generation of advocates, particularly American Indians and other Indigenous peoples, for careers representing Indigenous Peoples. The Center also provides a forum for discussion, research and scholarship regarding tribal legal and governance issues.


Center for International Trade & Agriculture

Center for International Trade & Agriculture

The Center entered into a dormant status in 2014. While active, the Center brought together scholars, practitioners, policymakers and students around the study and practice of international trade and agriculture, aiming to promote key issues in these areas through research and outreach in Kansas and around the world. The Center sponsored conferences, hosted visiting scholars, practitioners or policymakers, and educated and trained law students.
