Griffin Albaugh - Student Ambassador

Hi everyone! My name is Griffin Albaugh, and I am a third-year law student. I’ve lived in several states including Georgia, Illinois, Iowa and Colorado, but Lawrence has been my home since I began undergrad.
As an undergrad at KU, I pursued a major in history as part of KU’s LEAD Program. The LEAD Program has enabled me to receive my B.A. and J.D. concurrently, so technically speaking, my first year of law school was also my final year of undergrad. While in undergrad, I held positions at the Douglas County Courthouse, KU’s Counseling and Psychological Services and the Kansas Memorial Union's Human Resources Office.
Though my path to KU Law was by no means traditional, my reasons for wanting to be here are likely similar to everyone else’s. Ultimately, I wanted to attend law school at an institution that would provide both opportunity and community.
While law school is undoubtedly a stressful experience, the friendship and support offered by fellow students, as well as the breadth of opportunities available to us as students and potential graduates of KU Law make it all worth it.
KU Law has students of every background and walk of life, and while I have no doubt they agonized over their choice for law school, I have yet to meet anyone that doesn’t feel great about their decision. I hope you all will plan to visit us and set up a tour and see firsthand why KU Law students are so thankful to be here.
