Hello! My name is Bobbie Jo Horocofsky, I am a first-year student at the University of Kansas School of Law. I am a Kansas native, and attended Kansas State University for my bachelor's degree in animal science and industry. After finishing my undergraduate degree I moved to Colorado, where I completed my master's in biomedical sciences at Colorado State University.

While in Colorado, I worked on controversial policy issues surrounding science and agriculture. After working in academic scientific research my entire collegiate career, I decided I was ready for a change. I found that many scientists in my field who made the switch to law had career goals that aligned with mine, advocating for scientists in the legal realm. After much deliberation, I decided to leave research and study patent law.

Since I was new to the law school application process and a nontraditional student, I had a lot of catching up to do in applying to law school. I toured eight law schools throughout the Midwest, but it was the faculty at KU Law that drew me in. At KU the professors genuinely care about your interests and seeing you succeed. In addition, KU's Career Services Office convinced me that KU Law was the place for me!

I am extremely grateful to be able to follow my passion, and I enjoy helping others discover and pursue theirs. Don't hesitate to reach out to me with any questions or concerns you may have. I look forward to hearing from you!
