Hello, everyone! My name is Ethan Brown, and I am a third-year student at the University of Kansas School of Law. I graduated from Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota with a bachelor's in both biology and environmental science, but I am originally from a suburb right outside of Dallas.

My interest in law stemmed from many summers of natural science-related internships. I’ve been everything from a naturalist (think park ranger or nature hike guide) up in beautiful Custer State Park to a wildlife rehabilitator in the rural north woods of Wisconsin. During my time in these internships, I was able to see firsthand how the legal field can affect people on the front lines of a cause they are passionate about. I quickly realized that an extensive knowledge of the law is an invaluable tool, no matter what field you are interested in.

I began my law school search with three main criteria in mind. First, I wanted a small, supportive community that would give me the room and resources I needed to grow as a lawyer. Second, I wanted a comprehensive academic program that would allow me to gain experience and eventually practice in whatever area of law I chose. Finally, I wanted a place that I could call home and a school that I would be proud of as an alumnus. I found all of these (and more!) in Green Hall.

I know the kind of pressure you go through when you are trying to decide where to pursue a legal education. There are a lot of factors to consider, and it is a very important decision. Please, if you have any questions at all, feel free to reach out to me. I look forward to hearing from you!
