2L | Kansas City, Missouri | Fairfield University | email@example.com
Hi! My name is Sydney Buckley, and I am a 2L. I am from Kansas City, Missouri, and I went to undergrad at a small private school in Connecticut called Fairfield University. At Fairfield, I majored in politics with a minor in communications. I was also a member of the women’s volleyball team for four years.
When I was growing up, I always thought I wanted to go to law school. However, when I first got to college, I grew less certain. I spent my freshman year undecided in my major and in my career path. It wasn’t until I took a class taught by a professor who was Cornell Law graduate that I again began to feel certain that I wanted to pursue a legal path. Additionally, I was lucky enough to have had two very different legal internship experiences during college, each of which further reinforced my desire to attend law school.
When choosing which law school to attend, it was important for me to find somewhere that would be the right fit. For me, this meant that I wanted small and intimate class settings, friendly and driven people to surround myself with, and faculty and staff that would be highly dedicated to helping students succeed. I have discovered that KU is that place in the short amount of time I have spent in Lawrence already. Adjusting to life in Lawrence was a bit overwhelming at first because my undergraduate university had only around 4,000 students. However, I am so happy that KU has given me the chance to be a part of a big state school community, all while still being in small class settings and receiving a high-quality legal education. In short, KU has been everything I could have asked for and more.
I hope you will choose to join us here at KU Law! Feel free to contact me with any questions that you may have. Rock Chalk!
