Elm Beck - Dean's Fellows

My name is Elm Beck (they/them), and I am a 3L at KU Law. Before coming to law school, I studied Spanish Language and Women, Gender, & Sexuality Studies at the University of Kansas. I choose KU Law because of the welcoming community, and all of the great support that KU Law offers its law students in every step of our legal education. In addition to being a Dean’s Fellow, I am the Executive Staff Articles Editor for the Kansas Journal of Law and Public Policy, and 3L Advisor for the Trans Law Student Association (TLSA). Outside of school, I love reading books, going to the farmers market, and baking for my friends. I am so grateful for the opportunity to serve as a mentor to the new 1L class.

My best advice to a 1L is to find what drives your passion and hold onto it tightly!
