2026 Kansas Law Review Symposium

Voting Rights in a Post-Callais World

The Kansas Law Review will host its annual symposium on October 9, 2026. The symposium, entitled "Voting Rights in a Post-Callais World," will center conversations on the recent Louisiana v. Callais decision and its impact on voting rights legislation and litigation across the country. Panels throughout the daylong event will explore the current state and future of the federal Voting Rights Act, state Voting Rights Act analogues and state and federal election-related legislation.

No CLE credit will be offered during the Symposium.

Scholarship associated with the symposium will be published in a spring 2027 edition of the Kansas Law Review.

The symposium is sponsored by the Shook, Hardy & Bacon Center for Excellence in Advocacy.

Registration will open in August.
