Biography —

Colleen Mandell is a research attorney for the Kansas Supreme Court. She received her bachelor’s degree in English and mathematics from St. Norbert College in Wisconsin and her J.D. from Marquette University Law School. She then moved to Kansas to complete a two-year clerkship for Judge Robert D. Berger and Judge Mitchell L. Herren in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court.

Mandell’s writing draws from her background in mathematics, finance and technology, exploring the relationship between these fields and the law.

Outside of her legal work, Mandell coaches the Kansas City Storm, a girls’ ice hockey team. A lifelong athlete, she enjoys helping young athletes achieve feats beyond what she has accomplished herself. She also loves to cook from her well-stocked recipe collection, although her favorite meal is one that someone else has prepared.
