Hello There! My name is Brandon Rossman and I am a 1L from Yorba Linda California (Nixon’s Birthplace). I graduated from San Diego State University in 2020 with a Political Science major and was commissioned into the United States Air Force.
I was selected to be an Intelligence Officer (14N). The Air Force would take me to Goodfellow AFB in San Angelo for tech school before being assigned to Air Mobility Command at Scott AFB outside of St. Louis. As an Intelligence Officer, I informed decision-makers and operations planners of threats to air mobility forces across the globe. While working on the Intelligence mission I came into contact with the USAF JAG Corps. Air Force Lawyers are known as JAGs and provide legal support to both rank and file Airmen and Commanders. I want to be a JAG so that I can tackle the complex legal issues the Air Force and its Airmen face.
I was drawn to KU Law due to the amazing community. When I visited Lawrence I immediately fell in love with the beautiful campus and the lively downtown. The city has the small college town feel that I missed out on in my undergrad experience. I also really like the people here. The faculty are experts in their field and deeply invested in the development and skills of their classes. The KU Law culture is built around growth and is welcoming to all kinds of folks. Most importantly, I actively look forward to school every day. Which is very weird for me.
To sum up, KU Law is a great place full of wonderful opportunities to learn and grow. Most importantly KU Law feels like home to me. I look forward to getting to know you!
