Cody White is a 3L at KU Law. Before law school he served in the Marine Corps for 16 years and retired in 2022. He was a Criminal Justice major in undergrad, and is originally from Troup, Texas. He serves as an officer in the Native American Law Students Association and the Military and Veterans Law Society at KU Law. During 1L and 2L he competed in the National Native American Law Students Association Moot Court Competitions. His first summer he interned for a Federal Judge in Wichita, Kansas. His second summer he interned for the Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee in Washington, D.C.

Outside of law school, he enjoys running, lifting and taking his dog to the off-leash dog park in Lawrence. Cody has been married for 12 years. He and his wife love to travel and go to concerts. During law school, they have so far traveled to four countries and numerous cities across the US.

Cody's advice for 1Ls is to treat law school like a job.

“This is a professional school so treating it like a profession will help you develop great habits for when you graduate and go into the real world. This means being kind to your colleagues and classmates, diligent with your assignments and readings, and setting healthy boundaries to enjoy life outside of work and school."
