Hi, I’m Emily Nuñez, a 1L from Ulysses, Kansas! I graduated from the University of Kansas this past May with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.

Becoming an attorney has been a dream of mine since I was young. As a Latina woman, I strive to break cultural stereotypes, inspire my younger sister, and show young women of color that they can overcome obstacles and achieve their dreams. My family’s sacrifices fuel my determination every single day, and I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to pursue something I’ve wanted for so long.

As a first-generation Latina law student, the process of choosing a law school felt daunting at first. I chose KU Law because I knew the faculty, staff, and students were genuinely committed to supporting my success both personally and professionally. From my very first interaction, the KU Law community made me feel like I belonged. The small class sizes, incredible professors, and welcoming environment have made the challenges of law school far more manageable.

The KU Law Student Ambassadors played a huge role in my decision to attend KU Law. They helped me understand what to expect and how to prepare for my law school journey. The best part of connecting with them was knowing that I had someone in my corner from the moment I set foot on campus.

That’s exactly what I hope to offer you. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions about KU Law I’m here for you!
