Hello! My name is Logan Brtek, and I am a 2L from Norfolk, Nebraska. I attended the University of Nebraska Lincoln, where I majored in Criminology and Political Science and minored in Women and Gender Studies. I graduated in 2023 and started law school that fall.

Law school has been my plan since I participated in a mock trial in my eighth-grade civics class. Shortly after that, I joined my high school mock trial team and continued to do competitive mock trial all through undergrad. Between pretending to be a lawyer on the weekends and working at a county public defender’s office during college, I solidified my interest in criminal defense litigation.

When selecting a law school, KU stood out because it was the perfect distance from home and had countless hands-on learning opportunities. Once I attended admitted students day and met the student ambassadors, I knew I would have no problem building a community at KU Law. My experience here has exceeded my expectations.

Applying to law school can be very overwhelming. As a first-generation law student, I am eager to encourage people from all backgrounds to apply to law school. Feel free to email me with questions about the application process and my experience at KU Law!
