Hi! My name is Bella Price (she/her) and I am a 1L (first-year) law student from Spring Hill, Kansas, a small town just south of Kansas City. I graduated from Emporia State University in 2023 with a degree in History (Stingers Up!), and I am a first-generation law student!
I knew early on that I wanted to attend law school, so when choosing a major I went with something I genuinely enjoyed and that would help build fundamental skills for law school. Studying history gave me the chance to explore different eras, but I developed a particular passion for women’s history, especially the effects of public policy and health laws on women in Kansas during the 20th century. The research I did on this topic developed into a passion and desire to pursue a legal career in public policy and safety.
As a first-generation student, reaching this point has been a journey with many challenges and rewarding experiences. I’m grateful for the support system that encouraged me along the way and helped me navigate the process when it felt overwhelming. Law school applications can be intense with so many steps and things to consider. Lean on your support system during the application process and as you continue through law school. Remember, no one achieves this journey alone, and it’s okay to seek support and guidance every step of the way.
