Brandon Rossman is a 2L at KU Law. Before law school, he served in the Air Force for 3 years as an Intelligence Officer. He received a Political Science degree from San Diego State University. Brandon’s hometown is Yorba Linda, California. In addition to being a Dean’s Fellow, Brandon is a Student Ambassador at KU Law. During his 1L summer, Brandon interned for the 509th Bomb Wing Legal Office at Whiteman AFB. Upon graduation, Brandon will join the United States Air Force's JAG Corps.

Outside of law school, Brandon enjoys running, reading and hanging out with his two cats. He is married and loves to try new coffee spots with his wife. During his 1L year, Brandon went to nearly all the coffee shops in Lawrence and a few in Kansas City. His favorite coffee shop in Lawrence is the Cellar Door.

His advice for incoming 1L students is to be prepared!

“Law school is hard, but very doable with the right preparation. For me, preparation means building a calendar, reading ahead, blocking off time to study and most importantly, taking time to set boundaries between the law school grind and personal time. Personal time spent with friends, family and the things that make you happy is critical to keeping yourself in the right mindset to learn. With the right preparation, you can make it through law school with the least amount of stress.”
