2L, Overland Park, Kansas | University of Kansas
Sabrina Kopecky is a 2L from Overland Park, Kansas. She went to KU for her undergraduate degrees in political science and journalism, with an emphasis in digital media marketing. Kopecky was also a member of KU's LEAD program.
In addition to being a dean's fellow, Kopecky is also a member of the Kansas Journal of Law and Public Policy and Mock Trial Council. She also serves as the treasurer for OUTLaws, KU Law's LGBTQ+ affinity group, and coaches undergraduate mock trial in her free time.
Kopecky worked as a civil litigation summer associate at Seigfreid Bingham during her 1L year and will return there next summer.
Her advice to incoming 1Ls is to do law school your way.
"Law school is already nerve-wracking, and everyone has different advice on how to succeed. Learn what works for you and focus on that — even if it's different from what your friends are doing."
