Sydney Hoffman - Dean's Fellows
2L, Overland Park, Kansas | University of Kansas
Sydney is a 2L from Overland Park, Kansas. She graduated from KU with a B.G.S. in Political Science and a minor in Business. Along with being a Dean’s Fellow, Sydney is a member of the LEAD (Legal Education Accelerated Degree) Program, a Lawyering Skills TA, and she assisted the Transactional Law Competition Team, this past spring. Outside of school, she enjoys going on walks, working out, and attending KU football and basketball games.
Sydney is interested in transactional/contract law and more specifically M&A. She spent her 1L Summer as a Compliance Assistant at OneDigital Retirement + Wealth and is looking forward to focusing more on contract law next summer.
One piece of advice Sydney would give a 1L is to never count yourself out — you are entering a whole new world with lots of amazing and very smart people. It is common to feel like you are not smart enough to keep up with everyone around you. Let me be the first to tell you that you are smart enough! If you work hard and don’t give up on yourself, you will achieve great things in law school.
