Sydney Hoffman - Dean's Fellows

Sydney is a 3L from Overland Park, Kansas. She graduated from KU with a B.G.S. in Political Science and a minor in Business. Along with being a returning Dean’s Fellow, Sydney is a member of the LEAD (Legal Education Accelerated Degree) Program, a returning Lawyering Skills TA, the VP of the Business and Tax Law Society and she has competed at the UCLA Transactional Law Competition. Outside of school, she enjoys going on walks, working out and attending KU football and basketball games.
Sydney is interested in transactional law and more specifically M&A. She spent her 1L Summer as a Compliance Assistant at OneDigital Retirement + Wealth and her 2L Summer as a Summer Associate at Husch Blackwell.
One piece of advice Sydney would give a 1L is to never count yourself out — you are entering a whole new world with lots of amazing and very smart people. It’s common to feel like you’re not smart enough to keep up with everyone around you. Let me be the first to tell you that you are smart enough! If you work hard and don’t give up on yourself, you will achieve great things in law school.
