Howdy, y’all, I’m Olivia Almirudis Schneider, a 3L from San Antonio, Texas! I graduated from the University of Incarnate Word with an English major and a business minor. After working in the business sector and at a business law firm, I returned to my alma mater to pursue my MBA. During my master’s program, I married the love of my life and worked as a graduate research assistant for my university’s presidential strategic planning committee and as a director at an animal welfare nonprofit.
Becoming an attorney has been my dream since I was little. A few years ago, I was planning to attend law school when I was rear-ended on the highway. I sustained serious injuries that forced me to delay attending law school. While I enjoyed working in other fields, the years I spent healing only solidified that becoming an attorney and being a voice for the voiceless is exactly what I wanted to do with my life. Today, I couldn’t be more thankful to be here at KU Law.
As a Latina first-generation law student, choosing a law school was a very daunting process. I chose KU Law because I knew that the faculty, staff and students were committed to my success, personally and professionally. From my first interaction, the KU Law community made me feel like I fit right in, and the small class sizes, incredible professors and welcoming community make the rigors of law school seem far more manageable.
The KU Law Student Ambassadors deeply impacted my decision to choose KU Law and helped me understand how to prepare for my law school journey. The best part of interacting with the Student Ambassadors is that you have someone in your corner from the moment you step foot on campus.
When I was choosing a law school, I certainly had lots of questions (and concerns!) and was met with kindness and honesty every step of the way. That is exactly what I aim to do for you, so please reach out to me with any questions you have about KU Law. I’m here for you, and it would be a delight to help you!
