Hi, I’m Rachel Henderson. I’m a 3L originally from Wichita, Kansas. I’ve called Lawrence home for seven years. In 2020, I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas. I double-majored in philosophy and women, gender, and sexuality studies, with a minor in political science. My undergraduate research focused on sexual exploitation and criminal justice reform. 

The year after I graduated, I managed a political campaign for a local district attorney candidate running on criminal justice reform. Working closely with an attorney who shared my passion inspired me to apply to KU Law. I decided to start law school in the summer of 2021. Being a “summer starter” helped me develop the skills I need to be a successful law student. It made me feel more confident when I joined the rest of my class in the fall. 

As I was exploring my options for law school, it quickly became clear to me that KU is the best value. KU is a good law school with affordable tuition and great scholarship opportunities. KU Law students receive an excellent legal education without going deep into debt. KU also stands apart from other law schools for its friendly environment. While law school is competitive, KU promotes a culture of kindness and support. KU Law was the obvious choice for me.
