Hi! My name is Ryan Love, and I am a 3L from El Paso, Texas. I attended Texas A&M University and majored in philosophy. I planned on majoring in engineering, but forces beyond my control pulled me in a different direction.
Having witnessed some of the people I care about most deeply struggle to find their way through a legal nightmare, I knew that I wanted to practice law as a career. The advocacy skills demonstrated by the lawyers who helped to give my loved ones back their lives solidified my desire to attend law school.
My interest in KU Law began when my fiancé and I visited KU for her to choose a graduate program. Lawrence was very laid back and everyone I met at KU was extremely welcoming. My fiancé ultimately decided to attend graduate school in NYC, but my love for KU remained. Once I began preparing my law school applications, KU Law was at the top of my list. I was sold by the amazing work the Paul E. Wilson Project for Innocence and Post-Conviction Remedies does and by the unique opportunities to begin experiential learning early through organizations like the KU Traffic Court.
KU Law is prestigious and competitive, all without sacrificing the benefits of a supportive learning community. The prospect of growing this wonderful community is something I am excited to be a part of. I would love to answer any questions you might have and will do my best to help you navigate the challenge of figuring out what law school will be right for you. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me!
